Every weekend hundreds of Santiaguinos bike up this renowned hill which offers fantastic views and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan city life.Start the tour in Plaza Baquedano at 10am for morning departures and 3pm for afternoon departures. Bike through the renowned Bellavista neighborhood and arrive in the Metropolitan Park. Get a quick warm-up exercise, including instructions on the correct use and ride of the mountain bikes. Visit the San Cristobal's Funicular, a famous UNESCO World Heritage site.
Bike uphill towards San Cristobal's hill top, starting at 520 meters and reaching to the summit at 880 meters. The Metropolitan Park, home to the San Cristobal Hill, is divided within four districts of the city: Huechuraba, Providencia, Recoleta and Vitacura. This point allows a full 360° view over Santiago. Appreciate the vegetation, parks and squares on the ride up from excellent viewpoints to every part of the city.
Upon reaching the hill top, access the viewpoint of Mirador Terraza Bellavista. Climb up to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, or enjoy a delicious Mote con Huesillos (traditional Chilean beverage) and empanadas (Chilean pies). Descend downhill towards Pedro de Valdivia's side of park entrance and return to the starting point (Baquedano) through the principal parks of the city.
