See what was left from both residences after the hard days of the Second World War and learn about amazing restoration process that brought these two residences back to life.Your private guide and driver will meet you in the lobby of your centrally located hotel and together you will set off to the Suburbs of Saint Petersburg in your private vehicle. Comfortable modern non-smoking air-conditioned vehicles are used for all tours.
On your way to the Suburban Imperial residence you will hear live commentary of your tour guide about the sights you will be passing by, if necessary it is possible to make photo stops where traffic permits.
First, you will travel to Peterhof to take opportunity of the Special Early Admission to Grand Palace of Peterhof to avoid crowds. (Note: no Early admission is provided by the Palace during Low Season from October to April, thus regular admission is included into the tour cost)
The beauty of Peterhof rivals the one of French Versailles and in our opinion far exceeds it.
The Grand Palace at Peterhof was designed to be the centrepiece of Peter the Great's "Russian Versailles".
Inside, the Grand Palace is considerably more lavish, and the fact that the interiors had to be almost entirely reconstructed after World War Two does nothing to distract from their grandeur.
After the palace tour you will proceed to explore amazing Lower Gardens with numerous fountains, and if you are lucky, you will witness the ceremony of turning the fountains on.
Free time for lunch in the park cafe.
Depart to Tsarskoye Selo/Pushkin.
Upon your arrival to Pushkin, you will drive by the Egyptian Gate - which used to mark the main entrance into Tsarskoye Selo Imperial residence, past Fyodorovsky citadel, along the narrow shadowed streets of the little town where Alexander Pushkin, a famous Russian Poet, used to study and live.
On your tour of Catherine's palace you will enter the building from the spectacular courtyard (which offers great photo opportunities), will enter the Golden Enfilade and State Palatial Interiors through the main staircase, will see the Amber Room, private rooms of Alexander the 1st and Paul the 1st. (please note that the museum reserves the right to close these rooms without notice).
After the palace tour you will have a chance to enjoy a relaxing walk in the park and take numerous great photos.
Transfer back to St Petersburg at the end of the tour.
Tour will end at a location of your choosing within the city centre limits.
