It is very different from a house in your country! You can see how they cook and eat and sleep and what kind of things Khmer children do to help in the house hold. The English speaking driver will come with you and translate any questions you would like to ask the family. Depending on the day and time we can drive by a local school too or visit the local market. Or if you like you can see the local people at work in the field or workshop. Let us know what your preferences are and the driver will try to arrange it and translate for you.
Next you will ride an ox cart for approximately 20 minutes to explore the village and see the rice fields. Our next stop is a pottery workshop where your child/children will be taught how to make a clay pot or mug. This workshop produces pottery in a traditional Khmer way and you can see the potters at work. The English speaking teacher will teach you how to handle the raw material (clay), use the potter’s wheel and add Khmer carvings to the piece. It is very fun to do! After finishing the mug or pot the piece will be glazed and fired in a traditional kiln. The next day between 4pm and 5pm it is ready to take home as a souvenir. We can collect it for you or you can have the piece shipped to your home (shipping is at additional cost). Afterwards we will bring you back to the hotel.
