A lovely introduction to Athens and its fascinating history! Tour the city by bus, see the main attractions and visit the New Acropolis Museum, housing archaeological findings from the Acropolis.Meet your guide at the port and let them take you on a journey of discovery through the streets of Athens. Drive through today’s modern metropolis and see the daily rush of life buzzing around the foot of several surrounding hills.

Pass by the pretty marinas of Zea and Microlimano on the way out of Piraeus, and marvel at how the growing port city is merging closer to Athens as every year passes.

Keep your camera primed as you pass archaeological treasures that pop up in the most unusual places, and learn about the history that has shaped the city that stands today.

Make a stop at the Old Marble Olympic Stadium; a 19th century, reconstructed beauty that stands firmly on Roman foundations. Built for the revival of the Olympic Games in 1896, this gleaming white structure offers any budding photographer a wealth of material.

Continue on with a scenic drive, passing some of the city’s most important sites. Look out for the Royal Palace, Constitution Square and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier with its extravagantly dressed guards.

Arriving near to Acropolis Hill, you’ll be presented with a spectacular view of the Parthenon and the glorious monuments of the Acropolis. Stand in awe of this ancient monument and make the most of some wonderful photo opportunities.

Continue on to the New Acropolis Museum; an archaeological museum that’s dedicated to the Acropolis and its discovered treasures. The museum was built to house every artefact found on the Acropolis rock and it offers the best view of the Parthenon in the city. Look out for treasures from the Greek Bronze Age, the Roman era and Byzantine Greece, as well as the foundations of a very early Athens.
