Discover the mini slice of Great Britain in the Mediterranean. The Rock of Gibraltar is positioned at the entryway of the Mediterranean, at almost 1,400 feet high and reputed to be one of the two famous Pillars of Hercules.
Take your journey towards the British/Spanish border, passing the runway that is known for being the only airfield in the world that has to stop cars to allow an aircraft to land or take off.
You will see Europa Point, in the south of Gibraltar and view the only Trinity Lighthouse that is not based in Great Britain.
There are amazing photo opportunities of the Gibraltar Straits and the North African mainland throughout the day. Whilst on your spectacular tour, your guide will show the sights of interest, incorporating Catalan Bay; which used to be an appealing small fishing village where Genoese traders established themselves after evading the Napoleonic Wars. Move into the nature reserve of the Upper Rock Area and stop at the popular St. Michael’s Cave. Endeavour to go inside and observe at unbelievable ancient stalactites and stalagmites. Appreciate Gibraltar’s finest and respected residents; the “Barbary Apes”. They are free roaming, tail-less apes that have made the ‘Rock’ their home. View them, laugh at their antics and don’t forget to take some gorgeous photographs.
