A superb chance to enjoy Gran Canaria’s largest highlights! This is the tour if you are seeing Gran Canaria for the first time and looking to make the most of your short time on the Island.
This small group tour includes all entrance fees and complimentary refreshments.
Our first stop on this popular shore excursion is at the Bandama Crater, on your way there you will enjoy a the lovely vineyards and pine trees on the windy roads. The highest part stands at 569M and the whole area presents stunning views across Gran Canaria to Fuerteventura.
You will enjoy lots of photo opportunities this tour offers in all directions. We head into the centre of the island, pausing at La Lechucilla for more marvellous panoramic sights. Marvel at the volcanic activity and see the vegetation that blossoms in the fertile soil. Entwine up into the mountains and visit Los Pechos, one of Gran Canaria’s highest peaks, for more amazing photo opportunities.
In the foothills is the Mirador El Castillo and here we will stop to enjoy a typical Canarian lunch.
Nearby Santa Lucia is a delight for those of you engrossed in the culture and history of the island. Explore the Museo del Castillo de la Fortaleza; Gran Canaria’s archaeological and ethnographical museum. Displays here include archaeological finds from across the island, Guanche artefacts, agricultural tools, leather goods and skeletons.
Also in the area is the Fortaleza de Ansite. This protective fortress dates back to 1485 and is a natural volcanic reaction that tops a dramatic cavernous cliff. Used for dwellings and burials by the native inhabitants before the island was invaded, it then became a place of protection from further combat.
