This is an all inclusive course. Learn the basics, right up to getting you kiteboarding upwind comfortably! This course is run over 4-6 days which can either be consecutive or arranged around your schedule and is approximately 2 to 3-hours per day in the water.
Day 1
Learn the basics of setup, safety, launching and landing your kite, water recovery and flying a trainer kite before you are set up with a 4 line inflatable kite. Get into the water to experience bodydragging with the kite. You may share your first day lesson with another student as there is a lot of theory involved. You will receive private tuition once you are in the water.
Day 2
Refresh over the basics learned on day 1 and once you are comfortable with bodydragging upwind, you will be introduced to the board.
Day 3-5
Get straight into the water with your board and your instructor, concentrating on getting up and riding as quickly as possibly using the helmet communication system so your instructor is in constant contact with you whilst in the water. Once up and riding, you will be able to focus on riding upwind. This will allow you to get setup at the beach, head out, ride and come back to your start spot.....this is an exhilarating feeling.
Day 6
Your last lesson will depend on your progression and confidence in the water. Most people are comfortable riding, some staying upwind, some even doing transition turns. Your instructor will help you progress through as quickly as possible whilst making you comfortable with all of the information and equipment.
Once you have completed this course you will receive an International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) card showing which level you have reached which will allow you to hire kiteboarding equipment anywhere in the world.
