This tour offers the most spectacular city views from walking along the bund, riding the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, one of the busiest waterways in China flanked by the old and the new city skylines of this city, ending with a visit to the 88th floor observation deck of the Jin Mao Tower
After meeting your guide in your hotel lobby, you will start your exciting tour. We will start with a walk along the wide boulevard of the Bund, lined with impressive neoclassical buildings, dating back to Shanghai’s grandest days.
Following your walk, we will bring you to the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel: a mind-bending audio-visual ride underneath the Huangpu river. The tunnel uses high levels of technology in the decoration of the interior walls, as there is background music, plenty of pictures, and light patterns.
Continue to visit the Jin Mao Tower, which is the highest and biggest observation deck in all of China, breaking the Guinness World. The tower is filled with offices, a shopping mall, and the Grand Hyatt Shanghai Hotel. At the moment, the tower is the 17th tallest building in the world, and it comprises part of the Bund’s skyline that you saw earlier from the Bund. When it was built, its proportions all revolved around the number eight, a number which is associated with prosperity in Chinese culture. That’s why there are 88 floors that can be divided into 16 segments, each of which is 1/8th shorter than the 16-storey base of the building. The building was even built upon an octagon-shaped concrete shear wall core.
After this the tour ends and we will bring you back to your hotel.
