All the highlights of Düsseldorf in a fun, intuitive and informative Segway experience.Start your tour through Düsseldorf at one of the most iconic locations in the City – the Rheinturm. This 240 meter high TV and communications tower is not only one of the tallest structures in Germany, but also an integral part of the Düsseldorf skyline. There’s a parking lot right next to it, so you’re welcome to arrive by car – and find a parking space.
Begin with our local Tour Guide by learning how to control your Segway. Have ample time to safely learn how to drive, steer and stop the vehicle, then head out to the Landtag, the state parliament, which is right next door.
From here, drive to the Staatskanzlei, Apollo Varieté and towards – and over – the first bridge over the Rhine. While crossing the river, enjoy an amazing view over the Altstadt, the heart of Düsseldorf, Oberkassel and the Rheinwiesen, the river banks that are the location of the yearly FunFair. After a quick stop to take some pictures also, increase the max speed of your ride.
Crossing the rhine again over the Oberkassler Brücke we’ll head towards the Tonhalle, prestigious concert venue, and Museum Kunstpalast, built in the 1920s and still one of Germany’s most relevant art museums.
Taking a left turn into the Hofgarten, enjoy the and winding roads through this park, and drive towards the Kö - the world-famous shopping street! From here head right into the Altstadt – the old city from the middle ages – to see all the famous sights: The Rathaus and the Jan-Wellem-Statue, Burgplatz & Schlossturm – the last remnants of Düsseldorf’s large castle. And we’ll see all the bars, restaurants and venues that form “the longest bar in the world”.
At the “Uerige” brewery, you are invited to taste the rich flavor of the Altbier, the copper-colored beer typical for the region, yourself.
On our tab, of course.
From here drive along the Rheinpromenade to see the old harbor and the Kasematten; once the shipyards and docks of Düsseldorf, now the place to enjoy great fish cuisine. Slowly we head back towards the Rheinturm, but drive around it to reach the New Media Harbor to see all the marvelous buildings designed by the Who-is-Who in architecture.
A stunning finale of our tour, and an great starting point to begin your exploration of the Altstadt.
