After a briefing on sea lions from an expert trainer, you get to frolic with one of these friendly creatures in waist-deep waters. After the program, enjoy access to the park’s facilities, snorkel site in the Caribbean, pool and beautiful botanical garden.
Head to the eco-nature reserve of Chankanaab (‘Little Sea’) Beach Adventure Park, located inside Cozumel’s National Marine Park. Mosey over to the 'Dolphin Discovery' area, where you're greeted and provided with a life vest for your 45-minute encounter with a sea lion.
While you stand on a platform submerged in water, an expert trainer gives an orientation on the physiology of sea lions. Learn the difference between seals and sea lions, their diet, and guidelines on how to interact with these animals.
After the briefing, you won’t be able to stop yourself from smiling as these affectionate mammals entertain you. Listen to them bray and bark, and embrace one as it jumps up into your arms for hugs and kisses. Watch it leap out of the water, and clap in appreciation at its ‘song and dance.’
Play with your whiskered friend and give it a final pat before the program ends. Photographers and videographers are on-site to capture your sea lion interaction and will have your memorable souvenirs available for purchase by the time you leave the park.
After the program, enjoy access to the park’s snorkel site (equipment available to rent, or bring your own), an underwater wonderland of unusual statues and caves, and discover parrotfish in a coral reef.
Inhale the scents of aromatic plants while walking through the botanical garden, or take a dip in the pool. Done for the day? Head to the main beach and find shade under a palapa. When you’re ready, freshen up inside the changing rooms before returning to your hotel.
