Your chilling ghost-hunting adventure takes place at the Gribble House, a 15,000 square-foot Savannah warehouse built in the 1940s and located just across the street from the Savannah Visitor Center. In 1909, a terrible triple murder occurred where the warehouse now stands. Three women were attacked, with two dying on site and one at the hospital. It's thought their murderer was never caught.
Your guide relates the dark details of the brutal crime and then presents evidence of various ghost interactions said to have taken place in the years since. Listen to recordings of EVPs, or electronic voice phenomena, which some believe are communications from ghosts, and view pictures and videos of spirit sightings in the warehouse. Some say a woman in white haunts the northwest side of the building, and photographic evidence has been captured of the Shadow Man, an apparition who has reportedly been seen running through the warehouse.
Next, your guides will hand out ghost-hunting equipment and explain how to use it. Digital thermometers and electromagnetic field detectors help identify temperature drops and energy disruptions that may be caused by the presence of spirits. Ghost boxes quickly scan radio frequencies, creating white noise that ghosts may be able to manipulate in order to communicate.
Then it's time to start tracking ghosts just like the experts on the TV show Ghost Hunters. You'll split into smaller groups of two to five people so everyone gets a chance to use the equipment and you can cover more ground. Your guides stay close by to answer questions and help you identify ghost activity. Make sure to have your own digital camera ready just in case!
By the end of your 90-minute ghost-hunting experience, you'll have plenty of stories to tell and perhaps a souvenir of your own ghost encounter in spooky Savannah.
