Sarawak Cutural Village is tucked away on the foothills of Mount Santubong at Damai Beach, 21.748 mile (35 km) north from Kuching. It is also known as the “Living Museum”. Among others you can find houses built by the different people of Sarawak – Orang Ulu, Bidayuh, Iban, Melanau as well as Chinese and Malay houses. Among others you can find houses built by the different people of Sarawak – Orang Ulu, Bidayuh, Iban, Melanau as well as Chinese and Malay houses. It is also the place of the famous Rainforest World Music Festival every July.

On arrival, you will explore the 7 authentic replicas of ethnic houses. Chinese Farm House, Malay Stilted House, Melanau Tall House, Penan Hut as well as Longhouse of the Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu. In each house, you will see many artifacts from the tribal group of that house.
The village residents like to share their various traditional cultures and lifestyle. As the Iban longhouse has separate room side by side, all of which open to a long communal hall, so you can see some residents demonstrating aspects of each particular tribes such as weaving basket using “Pua” and straw, wood and bamboo carvings. Guests are often invited to attend their ceremonies at night, drinks such as rice wine and "Tuak" will be served.
Comfortable guesthouses are also available for visitors. The dance show is always a highlights, so please enjoy this interesting cultural dances in the performance hall.
