Join us on a walk through the most popular and traditional spots of Santiago. Listen to the stories and anecdotes of the capital city founded by Don Pedro de Valdivia in 1541 that has become one of the Latin America’s most modern buzzing hub.We will start our tour jumping on the subway or taxi to get to the popular neighborhood of La Chimba. You’ll begin the tour walking around the isles filled with fresh and colorful fruit, vegetables and spices of La Vega Central. After crossing to the southern side of the Mapocho river we will go into the Central Market to see some of the extraordinary variety of shellfish that the long Chilean coast offers, in a building that was actually made in Scotland in the late 19th Century.
A few blocks away we will step into the beautiful Cathedral of Santiago located in the Central Square of the old city and walk our way through the busy streets to the financial district, the presidential palace and the top of Santa Lucia Hill where Santiago was founded in 1541.
The rising gastronomy of Santiago is part of our tour so for lunch we will stop at a gourmet wine bar and restaurant where you’ll have plenty of opportunities to indulge in some (or many) sips of Chile’s famous wines! We will have dessert at a traditional ice cream shop ranked top 25 in the world only a block away
We will finish our tour at the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood, where you will have the option to spend some leisure time shopping, take the funicular to the top of San Cristobal Hill and choose one of the many restaurants on Constitution St. for dinner later, we will then chaperone you back to your hotel.
