Discover the historical city center of Sanremo with our walking tour that will let you travel back to Medieval times.Your night in the old town will start with a typical dinner in a family-run restaurant where you can taste the most traditional dishes of Sanremo like the "Sardenaira", an ancestor of the pizza, the "Brandacujun" (stockfish mashed with potatoes and olives), the "Ravioli di borragine" (ravioli with selvatic spinachs), the "Coniglio alla sanremasca" (rabbit stuffed with olives and wine) or the "Pesce alla ligure"(fish cooked in the oven with potatoes and olives).
At 8:45 pm our guide will pick you up from the restaurant and at 9 pm your walking tour will start.
"La Pigna" is the way the locals call the historical town center of Sanremo, because it's shaped like a pine cone. This walking tour will let you discover the ancient town that dates back to the medieval ages with its steep stairs, tiny streets (named "carrugi") and small squares, where you can admire the old buildings with their colorful facades.
At the top of the old town, visited by popes, emperors as Napoleon and heroes as Garibaldi, remains the baroque "Madonna della Costa" Sactuary (Holy lady of the Coast), with it's unique ascent paved in black and white stones and the rich facade.
