The city was built on top of several mountains and hills and was built by yellow stones. Al Salt is a model of harmony in Jordan with its social, religious, and architectural harmony. In Al- Salt all people from all faiths and cultures are live in peace.This is a 2 hour walking tour to visit local Jordanians houses and have traditional lunch. During the tour there are many activities such as pray in AL-khader Orthodox church, one of oldest and holiest shrines in Jordan dating back to 1682 and used by both Muslims and Christians, feel the traditional atmosphere of a gathering place for family members by visiting Madafat Al khalili. You will also have the chance to enjoy the view of the City from the English Complex and you will observe the planning of the old Islamic City where mosques and churches all gathered in one place and next to each other.
You will also be able to communicate with local people and try the tasty local dishes with a home visit including Jordanian traditional dishes called Magloubah, layers of rice, vegetables and chicken.
The tour includes walking the most famous and old street in city, Al- Hammam Street. It is a narrow street where cars are not allowed and you will find many different shops on both sides such as Sweet (Knafeh) shop, Qattaif ( another kind of sweet, Attar shop, Nuts and Candy shop, Vegetable shop, Tobacco shop, Shoemaker shop, Perfume shop,Barber shop who still have old shaving tools.
