Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa (L, D)
Day 4: La Playa - Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)
Day 5: Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)
After hotel pickup at 7am, travel by private bus to Mollepata District. This small community is located along the main road from Cusco to Abancay. Head to Cruzpata arriving at 10am and start the trek. Meet the "arrieros" (horsemen) and trek crew and walk approximately 2.5 hours admiring diversity of the flora and fauna. Stop to enjoy a delicious lunch at Chuñuna and hike for about 3 more hours to reach the first campsite in Soraypampa (3,800 meters) to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Soraypampa – 7 snakes Pass – Challhuay (B, L, D)
Early morning have breakfast and leave from Soraypampa. You will climb to the 7 snakes pass (4,600 meters of altitude), the highest part of the tour. Here you can see the spectacular view of the second highest peak Named Salkantay, a stunning snow covered mountain (6,271 m) and great views of Humantay and Huayanay mountains as well, small lakes and the flora and fauna typical from this region. Head downhill and arrive to Challhuay to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Challhuay – La Playa (B, L, D)

Day 3: Challhuay – La Playa (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast at 6am you'll begin the third day of hiking until Wiñay Poqo. Here, you'll have lunch and continue hiking downhill admiring the high jungle scenery whichh is very well know as Ceja de Selva. Here, you can find coca, coffee and several native fruits plantations. In the afternoon, you'll walk more than two hours again downhill and arrive to La Playa village to have dinner and camp for the night. There is an option for shower at the creek of Santa Teresa River.
From La Playa you'll take a local transportation for approximately 20 minutes to Lucma (or hike if not local transport is available). Here you'll start the climb of about 3 hours to Llactapata (newly discovery Inca Site) which is famous for a “great condor view of Machu Picchu”, then enjoy a picnic box lunch. You will then hike downhill for about 2.5 hours to arrive to the Hydroelectric Station by 3pm. You will take the local train to Aguas Calientes which will lasts 45 minutes. You may also wish to pay a visit to the town's famous thermal springs which feel great after finishing the trail. Entrance to the springs is a small fee of $US 3.00. Allow 3 hours to really enjoy them and they are open until 9pm. In the evening, you'll have dinner at Gringo Feliz Restaurant and rest for the night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 5: Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)
Wake up early around 5:30am and have breakfast. Leave your luggage at the hotel and take an early tourist bus up to Machu Picchu with an English-speaking guide. Reach the citadel and enjoy a 2.5 hour guided tour. You then have time to explore the site on your own for 3 hours and maybe climb Huayna Picchu mountain (must be booked in advance). You'll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes by 1pm. Buses depart every 15 minutes and reach Cusco at 7:20pm to be transferred to your hotel.
