Guided group walking tour to discover Varese's Sacro Monte. This Unesco World Heritage site is a famous place where history meets art, surrounded by a luxuriant nature. Small groups of visitors will enjoy the visit of the Holy Road and the little village of Santa Maria del Monte. Views are stunning from the top of the mountain and there you can see mountains, lakes and valley.Arrival at the First Chapel where the group will meet the local expert guide. Rise up the mountain the group will see the 14 Chapels rapresenting Jesus's life. The guide will show the history of every single Chapel. The rise up will take 1,5 hour along a cobblestones path of 2 km of lenght. At the top of the mountain the group will visit the permanent Presepe and then the Sanctuary which is a little jem of baroque art. The guide will show the woody statue of the Black Madonna (30 min). After the Sanctuary the group will visit the little village of Santa Maria del Monte where is possible to see mural painting and stunning views from the windows of typical underpasses (30 min). For a rest there will be a stop at the Emporio Shop, where visitors can have a free taste of local products and do some shopping. The bus will wait the group at the parking, located far few minutes by walk from the Sanctuary.
