Experience Varanasi, full of color, excitement, and not surprisingly, was previously known as Kashi, "the city of life". Take this opportunity to explore Varanasi, the city which cannot be described, only experienced.Enjoy a 6-hour tour and experience one of the holiest cities in India. A chauffeur-driven private car will pick you up from your hotel in Varanasi at 2:00 pm and you will be introduced to your guide for the day. You will then proceed on for sightseeing.
First, visit the Durga Temple, one of the most well-known architectural monuments in Varanasi, and known for it's bright red color and exotic, adorable monkeys that roam the area. Next, you will visit the expansive New Vishwanatha Temple, located on the Banaras Hindu University campus. The temple was built from white marble, and is open to people from all castes and religions.
In the evening, you will get to see an Aarti ceremony on the Ghats Ganges. Aarti is a religious and spiritual ritual conducted in front of a divine element (the Ganges river) and in which huge crowds form to watch and participate in. The locals chant and light ghee-filled brass lamps on fire as offerings to deities. To experience this evocative and spiritual ritual and to be moved by it! After the Aarti ceremony, you will be driven back to your hotel.
