Set off from Perth in the morning, and begin your day trip to Rottnest Island by cruising down the Swan River toward the port town of Fremantle. Pass by local landmarks and the majestic houses of Millionaire’s Row. After a quick stop to collect passengers in Fremantle, it’s a short hop across the ocean to Rottnest.
Affectionately known as Rotto, the island has a relaxed atmosphere, pristine beaches and great snorkeling, diving and surfing, making it a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike.
Get acquainted with the town settlement area on a guided walking tour. Discover the interesting history of the island from shipwrecks and early settlers to ghosts and penal colonies. The rest of your day is free to explore the island before the ferry departs for the mainland later in the afternoon.
