The building, a three levels structure, is one of the most representative monuments of the history of Rome: the three different archaeological levels go down for 12 metres in a suggestive walk through the History. The first level of the hundergrounds houses a mithreum (roman temple of mithra) and the ruins of some insulae, Roman Houses. Over the centuries on this first layer rose up beautiful buildings, so you will able to admire an amazing medieval church as well. The highlights of this little underground basilica are the Ancient frescos with stories of Saint Clement.
