Arrive Thursday as an optional early check-in to maximize your weekend in Rome (Included in Tour Option:'4 Days, 3 Nights'). Head into town with the other "early birds" for an evening stroll through one of Romes most romantic neighborhoods, Trastevere. An optional dinner will be arranged* and you'll have a chance to sample some amazing Roman cuisine (2 hrs).
*Food and drinks are not included on this tour, with the exception of the group dinner (Tour Option: '4 Days + Group Dinner)*
Friday, Day 1: Ancient Rome
Meet 10:00am at the hostel to break down the weekend itinerary with your professional local guide. Friday will be the day to explore the best of Ancient Rome. Head to the Colosseum and Roman Forum with the group to tour the same monumental grounds that Ceaser, Octavian, and other notable Romans frequented almost 2,000 years ago (4.5 hrs)! That evening, you'll meet up at the Spanish steps for an evening stroll across Rome, which caps off with a dinner party in the shadow of the Pantheon at a traditional family owned Roman restaurant. A night out on the town in Rome's notorious Campo dei Fiori district is sure to follow.
Saturday, Day 2: Papal Rome
Repent from last nights festivities, because you're headed over to the Vatican to lay eyes on St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum, and the Sistine Chapel. Being one of the most sacred places on the planet, the Vatican is filled with priceless artwork and religious artifacts accumulated over the centuries that dazzle travelers from around the world(4hrs). The group will pit stop afterwards for pizza by-the-slice and gelato at Rome's famous Old Bridge Gelato (1.5 hrs). Take the afternoon the explore and wander back into the heart of Rome.
This evening the group will meet and head to Trastevere for the farewell group dinner in Rome's local hangouts (2hrs). Cap the evening by heading for some of the favorite bars in this neighborhood.
Sunday, Day 3: Tearful Goodbyes
The tour ends after breakfast, and students are free to depart at any time to catch their travel arrangements. The guide will make recommendations for those who have extra time in town: including trips to Galleria Borghese for amazing Baroque art, or the Porta Portese flea market.
