Visit the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill, the Pantheon and more.Your English-speaking driver/guide will meet you dockside in Civitavecchia to pick you up for your day tour of Rome. You will reach Rome in approximately 90 minutes.
Visit the Colosseum and spend about 20 minutes strolling around its charming square and admiring the Arch of Constantine and the Arch of Titus (entrance to Colosseum at own expense). Your next stop will be Circus Maximus, where you can see what is left of this magnificent structure as well as catch a view of Palatine Hill.
Travel by the so-called “Road of Temples” and over to the current heart of the city, with breathtaking views of Palatine Hill and Piazza Venezia. Visit the Victor Emmanuel Monument and the balcony made famous by Mussolini.
Next, stop for amazing views of the Roman Forum and the trade, financial, and religious heart of the Roman Civilization. Explore the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps before choosing lunch. There are options for something to go, pizza or a salad or something more authentic and off the beaten track where locals would eat.
After lunch, choose between traveling to Appian Way to see the first road ever built and explore the catacombs or explore less known areas of the city such as Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori and the highest point in town for an incredible view of the city. Drive by St. Peter’s Square for some final photos and catch a glimpse of the Vatican before being transferred back to the port to meet your ship.
