Take a 3-hour canoe tour along the River of Golden Dreams. Enjoy epic views around every bend, the River of Golden Dreams features the historic Alta Lake, old growth forest, and wildflower-lined banks. Experience an enchanting journey from lake to lake on this summertime classic.Check in 15-30 minutes before your departure time at the Reservations Desk in the Carleton Lodge. From here, your driver will transport you by bus to Alta Lake (5-10 minutes away). You will be accompanied by a professional canoe guide while out on tour, but they will be traveling in a separate boat.
After learning a few different strokes, you will begin your adventure by paddling across the historic Alta Lake, where you will pass the original site of Myrtle Phillip's summer fishing resort. Following families of ducks and geese into the lush river mouth, you'll paddle through flowing lilies and around bends of overhanging greenery. Flowing with the current, you can lounge lazily along with just a few strokes to steer through narrow passages. As the river opens up again on the other side you'll get picked up on the shore of glacier fed Green Lake.
