A seafood lunch and dinner is included. This Sekinchan Rice Field and Kuala Selangor Fireflies Tour starts at 10am from Kuala Lumpur. Our journey starts with a 90 minute drive through the Kuala Lumpur countryside, passing a Palm Oil plantation and a jungle. On the way we stop off at a Chinese temple and a famous wishing tree. We then arrive at the beautiful Redang Beach before heading to Sekinchan for a fresh and tasty seafood lunch.
Sekinchan is a well known fishing village and one of the major rice supplying regions in Malaysia.
After lunch we take you to the Sekinchan rice fields, depending on the time of year the colors of the fields can vary from whether they are in the planting or harvesting season. We then visit the Rice Museum to learn more about the history of this major rice producing area. On our way out of Sekinchan we visit the beautiful Nan Tian Temple and with the sun starting to set we continue to Melawati Hill, a former fort with a antique cannon facing the busy Straits of Malacca. Whilst here it is likely you will encounter the local inhabitant, the Silver Leaf Monkey.
We then proceed towards Kuala Selangor for dinner and your boat ride through the mangroves. Our seafood dinner is served on the riverside and if you are lucky enough to see it the sunset view is amazing. Once dinner has finished and night is upon us we join our boat to view the fireflies. You will be amazed by these mesmerizing fireflies and the area is known to have one of the largest colonies in the world. We then head back to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
