The actual population of the Amaru community consists of a 200 families; who choose their own representative who has total authority for a period of two years. Its economy is based on agriculture and animal rearing. To help supplement their income, the communities have organized activities to teach the world about their ancient heritage and culture.

The actual population of the Amaru community consists of a 200 families; who choose their own representative who has total authority for a period of two years. Its economy is based on agriculture and animal rearing. To help supplement their income, the communities have organized activities to teach the world about their ancient heritage and culture.

The Amaru community offer to their visitors one of the most relevant traditional activities, the textile process. They will teach the entire processes of creating each textile, from the dying the wool with natural plants until the final product. For the ethnology botanical lovers, the locals will teach their knowledge about natural plants used in traditional medicine.

The archaeological center of Pisac, is one of the most important attractions near to the community, only 40 minutes away from Amaru, a magnificent temple of Inca control built in the 15th century.

Uncover the mystery of the iconography of the tissues of Yachaqs, ancestral techniques and transmitting messages, colors and shapes woven art of Pisac; process from shearing, natural, spinning, weaving shown live on their clothing Amaru settler dyed colors.

Decode the mysteries of Andean Iconography through the weaving of the Andean people. Learn the ancient flat weaving techniques of Pisaq, transmitted through colors and shapes chosen by the weaver. Processes such as the shearing of the wool, natural dyes, the spinning and weaving that are reflected in the bright clothing of the Amaru villagers are explored in this activity.
