Join an authentic Sami guide for an unforgettable experience with reindeer sledding (3 km) and Sami culture in Tromsø. You will meet guides who come from Sami reindeer herding families.
During your visit you will experience: Reindeer sledding, lasso throwing, Sami food, storytelling, display of cultural artifacts and joik (traditional Sami song).
After meeting at Radisson Blu Hotel, you will then be transferred to where the activities take place.
The tour will start with the reindeer sledding, that will last around 30 minutes. After the sledding there will be time for socializing with the reindeers, where you will be able to feed them, and they will eat from your hand. One of our guides will also show you how the lasso throwing works and you will be able to try it out yourself, on antlers attached to a pole. After the outdoor activities we will go inside the lavvu where lunch will be served. For lunch you will get a traditional sami stew usually served at sami weddings, and other special occasions. You will also be served hot drink (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate).
Then one of our sami guides will tell you a little bit about the sami culture, with the reindeer herding lifestyle and history in focus. While the guide is telling you about our culture, the guide will show you artifacts that were and are still used today, they will be passed around for you to be able to get a closer look. The storytelling will round of with a joik (sami traditional folksinging).
After the tour you will be transferred back to the meeting point at Radisson BLU.
You are back at the hotel at 14:00 (4 hours)
