Your guide will meet you at your hotel and then you will take public transport to Jingshan Park. Transportation will depend on your hotel’s location, it may be by bike, bus or subway. After a leisurely climb to the top of the Jingshan Hill, you will be able to have a bird’s eye view of the Forbidden City, in the early morning when it is not so crowded. Then you may join the local citizens to do their morning activities like the ribbon dance, Tai Chi.
Accompanied by your guide you will then visit the local market and buy the vegetables that you can use to prepare your lunch. Head to a 100-year old traditional courtyard where you will learn how to make Chinese dumplings and local dishes. You will then be able to taste what you have cooked for your lunch and brag about what you made when you go home.
After lunch follow your guide to rent a bike and ride through the local Hutongs. You will also get to learn how to draw the famous “Peking Opera masks' or the 'Beijing-Style Rabbit' at the local store with the owner.
Take your art work with you and continue the journey by riding bike through the other Hutongs, where you will enjoy a traditional tea ceremony at a tea house nearby the ancient Drum Tower.
Return your bike and go back to your hotel with your guide by bus or subway. You are officially a real Beijinger for today!
