Cross the arid landscape of the Ras Abu Gallum Protected Reserve on a full-day safari by Jeep and camel. Snorkel and swim among hard and soft coral and see angelfish, batfish, unicorns and parrotfish. Climb onto the back of a camel to experience the ships of the desert, and more.
Enjoy a day of soft adventure in the Ras Abu Gallum Protected Reserve on a full-day snorkel, camel and Jeep safari from Dahab. Starting at 8.00am with a drive by jeep to the Blue Hole to experience the legendary snorkeling. Explore the reef slope, rich in hard coral, such as acropora, brain and star coral, and some soft coral. Swim among triggerfish, jacks, unicorns, parrotfish, angels, grouper and more.
Next, climb onto the back of a camel and ride along the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba to Ras Abu Gallum, afforded National Park status in 1992. On arrival at North Ras Abu Gallum, you will snorkel among fire coral, raspberry coral, small table coral, porites and salad coral. Marvel at marine life, such as butterfly-fish, angelfish, anthias, glass-fish, grey eels and bat-fish.
Continue to South Ras Abu Gallum to swim among rose coral, and encounter turtles if you are lucky. Look out too for pufferfish and smaller creatures, such as shrimps and nudibranch. After a lunch camel ride back to the Blue Hole, where the Jeep will be waiting to return to Dahab at approximately 5.00pm.
Alternatively you can stay overnight for a further day and really take in the scenery and tranquility of this special place.
