Our Hawaiian storyteller will greet you with a welcome chant before starting your guided walk along Lili'uokalani Street, which marks one of the borders of the estate of Queen Lili'uokalani. For your first stop at the corner of Lili'uokalani Street and Kuhio Avenue, you will be introduced to Queen Lili'uokanlani through short stories and songs, giving you a glimpse of her life in the royal court. Your next stop is in the Kuhio Room of the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel. You will learn to sing the most famous song written by the Queen, "Aloha Oe" accompanied by a finely tuned 'ukulele. Once you leave the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel, you walk along Kuhio Avenue heading to the former estate of Princess Ka'iulani. This path has two more stops for you where you will visualize Waikiki of long ago as your storyteller brings to life the legends of Waikiki through song and story.
Your next stop is at the Princess Ka'iulani statute on the corner of Ka'iulani and Kuhio Avenues. As with the Queen, your storyteller will tell stories and sing songs of a time our Princess lived in Waikiki. From the statute, you will walk over and enter the Princess Ka'iulani Hotel where you can feel her presence as you view her stunning portrait and hear more stories about her aspirations and accomplishments for her people. This is the last stop where you will sing "Aloha Oe" again and bid your walking companions "a hui hou" a Hawaiian tradition of wishing each other well until you meet again.
