Nestled in the Sierra Madre hills, this research center and ecological park spanning 20 acres (8 hectares) has been a huge hit with visitors since it was made open to the public in 2005.
During your 2-hour guided tour, meander along paved walkways in a jungle-like setting. Walk on the Path of Flowers and get to know some of the native tropical plants on-site, including orchids, oak trees and bromeliads. In this wildlife retreat, you’ll see a number of birds and animals along the way.
Step inside the Orchid Observatory, a laboratory dedicated to the propagation of endangered species of orchids. Gain insight into the local vanilla orchid, as well as cacao and coffee. Admire the aquatic ponds near the observatory and take a peaceful stroll along a river that runs through the gardens. Cap off your visit to the gardens with a complimentary soft drink.
