Imizamo Yethu, the only Cape Town township within another suburb, is home to 30,000 people and is perched on the hillside in affluent Hout Bay. The heavy contrast in living conditions offers truthful insight into modern day South Africa. Your local guide, Lulama, will take you from the main road proceeding up the hill towards our first stop.

Moving through the township, we will visit Little Lambs pre-school where the principal shows us around her amazing school. The brightly colored walls and beaming children add to the vibrancy and hope for the future generations that may attend the school. Please keep in mind that this visit is only possible in term time.

As you continue on through IY, as it is locally known, take in the sights and sounds with your local guides. You will be shown all aspects of community life and introduced to some of the lively characters.

We will then head down the hill to visit the community center and local craft market with its wonderful items made from recycled products.

Meandering up the hill, we will reach Constantia Neck and visit our first vineyard – Beau Constantia. The relatively new winery offers great valley views from its glass walled tasting room. We will taste their Rose wine and use this location to take some landscape photographs of Cape Towns oldest wine region with its Cape Dutch homes and rolling vineyards.

Our next stop is the beautiful Constantia Glen where the tasting room and terrace proposes beautiful photographs between the grapevines. We are sure you have worked up quite a hunger and this is the terrace is the perfect setting for a Mediterranean styled lunch with some award winning wines.

After lunch (optional), it is time to head back to the city through the suburbs in the shadow of Table Mountain. If you so wish, we can arrange to drop you off at the magnificent and picturesque Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Please keep in mind that this route has been worked out best for light, time and photographic opportunities.  Should you wish to customize or adjust it, feel free to ask for assistance for an alternative itinerary.
