You'll learn about the importance and history of both of these places and have a great day with a private guide and transport.Your private day trip begins with hotel pickup from your centrally located hotel in Mexico City. From there, you'll drive to the town of Cuernavaca, also known as the "city of eternal spring. " This place is considered to have wonderful weather with ideal temperatures most of the year. You'll visit Palacio de Cortes which was a Spanish residence on a hill overlooking the highlands and valleys that extend to the south and the city of Cuernavaca and can be considered as the oldest colonial civil construction in the Americas. After seeing the streets and major places in Cuernavaca, you'll head to the sit of Xochicalco in the state of Morelos.
This is the largest archaeological site there and the fifth nationwide in terms of visitors. Its name comes from Nahuatl and means Place of the Casa de las Flores. The site was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation and on December 1, 1999 UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. Learn from your guide about its importance and its inhabitants. It is said that the ruins possibly corresponded to the civilization of the Olmecs who landed on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, more than fifteen centuries ago. See the main square which is the most important space, the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, the Temple of Stelae and the Observatory.
After touring the site, you'll drive back to Mexico City and be dropped-off at your hotel. During the tour there will be a break for lunch (not included).
