Itinerary:
8.30am: Be collected from your hotel and embark on your scenic drive to the mountains in search of Suthep Hill. At 3000 feet (915m) sits the most venerated Temple in Chiang Mai, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
To reach the shrine inside the temple, you are free to climb the 306 steps or you can take the tram. Allow yourself time to take in the magnificent view before your drive downhill to visit the famous Wat Umong.
Wat Umong sits among 15 acres of woodlands and is dated circa 1297. Most famous for the network of underground tunnels with original wall paintings that are still visible today. Next stop will be Wat Chiang Man. An ancient temple built for King Mengrai in 1296, proudly holds the title as the first temple of Chiang Mai.
Your leisurely drive back to the city will deliver you to the Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre before a visit to the temple, Wat Phra Singh. Heading further south toward your final stop for the day, is Wat Chedi Luang, once home to the Emerald Buddha of Siam.
5pm: Your hotel transfer awaits.
