In the area around the town of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, greenish blue fields of Agave stretch out mile after mile over the rugged, hilly terrain. On this private day trip, you will discover tequila. Learn its history and how 60 million gallons a year are produced in the States of Guanajuato, Nayarit, Michoacan and Tamaulipas. Admire the landscapes with the fields full of Blue Agave on this cultural tour.You will be picked up from your hotel between 7am and 8am (as you prefer) and drive inland towards the beautiful mountains. Upon arrival to Tequila, after this drive, which is worth the trip already, you will head to the most beautiful Tequila Hacienda in the area: The Hacienda San Jose del Refugio.
Here, tequila brands of El Jimador and Herradura are produced. You will enjoy a guided tour witch explains the tequila-making process step by step including how the agave plant is transformed into tequila. Finally, you try different varieties of the spirit.
After this tour, you will visit the town of Tequila where you will see the town’s 18th century church, the Town Hall with an amazing mural and you will have time to walk around yourself and have lunch (not included). After lunch, you will drive back to Puerto Vallarta.
