Receive an orientation and safety briefing from your pilot, and then hop aboard the helicopter for the first leg of your journey. As you soar over Hobart, take in views of Mt Wellington and the Tasman Bridge, and then follow the River Derwent — the deepest river in the southern hemisphere — for approximately 10 minutes before landing at your first destination, Redlands Estate.
During your 45-minute tour of Redlands Distillery, you'll go behind the scenes to learn about the whisky-making process here, which starts with growing their own barley. See how the goods are malted, mashed, fermented, distilled and matured, and then end your tour with a tasting of the finished product. Have some time to stroll around the estate before flying inland for 15 minutes to your next stop, Nant Distilling Company.
Land on the front lawn of the historical Nant Estate, and take a guided tour of the distillery. Nant's whisky was ranked among the world’s 50 best in 2012, just four years after opening for commercial production. Enjoy a tasting of this award-winning whisky paired with nibbles on a tasting plate.
After departing Nant, fly over the Tasmanian landscape to Coal Valley, a flight that takes about 30 minutes. Touch down at a vineyard, and head to Lark Distillery, the first distillery to be licensed in Tasmania since 1839. Here you’ll learn about their production process, and then enjoy tastings of some of Lark's world-class whisky.
At this point, you have the option to visit nearby Frogmore Creek Winery for lunch (own expense), if you wish, or you can return directly to Hobart. Transfer back to your Hobart hotel is included with both options.
