Dadaocheng literally means "dried grain field." It is an area in the Datong District, part of the Taipei Basin and a historic section of Taipei. Dadaocheng Pier was an very important trading port in the 19th century, a lot of Taiwan specialties were exported to the world from here, such as tea. Nowadays, Dadaocheng is still a major historical tourist attraction and shopping area. This district is also known for the local Taiwanese cuisine.
