Start your day with a pickup from your centrally located Cape Town hotel, and then travel by air-conditioned minivan to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa and the historical heart of the Cape Winelands region. As you travel, learn about the area’s winemaking heritage and ask your private guide any questions you have about the day’s itinerary.

Make your first stop at the Rustenberg estate in the valley of the Simonsberg mountain range, where wine has been produced since the 17th century. Snap photos of the vineyards and discover how the grapes are harvested by hand in the early mornings. Then, stroll through the beautiful gardens, complete with a pergola, labyrinth and Koi pond, to the tasting center. Sample six different varietals of wine, such as Schoongezicht White and Stellenbosch RM Nicholson, and learn how to identify the different notes and aromas.

Continue on to the Delaire Graff Estate, nestled between majestic mountains and overlooking the vineyards of Stellenbosch. Here, taste between three and five wines, from shiraz to Delaire Graff Cape Vintage, paired with platters of cheese and biltong. After your tasting, enjoy a tour of the estate, during which you’ll see the estate’s prized art collection, including works by some of South Africa’s finest contemporary artists.

Next, travel to Franschhoek, where you’ll enjoy lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant before continuing on to L’Ormarins wine farm. Here, visit the Antonij Rupert Cellar, a state-of-the-art, gravity-fed cellar with a revolving ceiling and an underground barrel cellar. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the Franschhoek Motor Museum, which showcases more than 100 years of motoring history.

When the time comes, join back up with your guide and return to Cape Town, where your private day trip concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.

Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required.
