Originally used as a pirate route, Sian Ka´an stretches from Tulum to almost the border with Belize. The shallows and mangroves surrounding this area made it the perfect spot for colonial pirates.
You will be picked up in Playa del Carmen and taken to enjoy a Mexican taco breakfast (vegan options are available).
After crossing Tulum you will enter the dirt roads leading to Muyil, there you will free-float on the canals until reaching the docks, where you will meet the local captain and sailor who will take you to the water pathways. From there, you will see wild dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, many types of birds, and at times even large alligators.
You will reach a natural pool where you will be able to relax. The natural, shallow pool is exactly that, a crystal clear natural pool only 3 ft deep.
Then, you will stop for lunch, fresh lobster and fish will be served on the beach along with cold beers and soft drinks.
There will be some great photo opportunities once the sun starts to go down. You will then be driven back to Playa del Carmen, stopping for gelato and coffee on the way.
