Learn how to cook Russian food in a private 3-hour cooking class in Moscow. You’ll hear about the country’s rich culinary history from your teacher, a professional chef, as you prepare a 3-course meal. Discover the secrets to making classic Russian dishes such as borsch, beetroot salad and beef stroganoff, then sit down to the meal you have created with a glass of wine or mors (cranberry compote)! After hotel pickup by your private guide, head to the Metro Station to catch the train to a local restaurant where you’ll meet the professional chef who will be your teacher. Grab your apron and get prepared to cook Russian-style.

With the expert help of your teacher, you’ll follow along as your teacher shows you how to make three classic Russian dishes. The dishes on the menu depend on the season and the local availability of ingredients, but some possibilities include beetroot salad, borsch (beetroot soup), herring salad, stchi (cabbage soup) or beef stroganoff.

Your host will share stories about Russia’s long culinary tradition as you cook together. Russia’s cuisine reflects its history; the heavy recipes of the Soviet era are being reinvented, with fresh ingredients and flavors revitalizing some of the country’s favorite dishes.

At the end of your lesson, you’ll enjoy your meal with a glass of wine, mors, or kvas–a fermented drink made from bread! As you savor the food, chat more with your hosts about Russia and their favorite foods or restaurants.

You’ll be given recipes to take home with you. Bid your teacher farewell and return to your hotel with your guide at the end of your tour.
