The tour starts 09:30 with pick up from your hotel or Windermere station. Pick up from Oxenholme station can be arranged on request.
In less than 10mins stop for a magnificent and often over looked view of Windermere before visiting the mock gothic building of Wray Castle to explore its connections with Beatrix Potter. We visit Hill Top with plenty of time to enjoy the house and gardens where very little has changed since Beatrix lived here.
Beatrix married Wiliam Heelis from the village of Hawkshead and we have time to explore this pretty car free village before and perhaps visit the Beatrix Potter Gallery ot Hawkshead Relish Shop - a delight of locally made jams and relish to sample.
Lunch arrangements are flexible and can be taken here or later in the tour after the scenic visit to Tarn Hows and Coniston Water.
A wonderful lakeside drive connects with the steam train at Haverthwaite and the cruise on Windermere a different view of the surrounding mountains. The tour finishes at Bowness pier at 16:25 where your transport awaits to take you to your hotel or Windermere station for onward travel.
Entry fees, train and cruise fares are payable locally. As this is a private tour there are many alternative options should you not wish to take the steam train and cruise.
