This tour starts with exploring Kota Bharu town and experiencing the unique lifestyles of Kelantanese folk across all generations. See the contrast of the city where the old and newer developing buildings continue to coexist within the city. Next is a visit to the Kota Bharu cultural zone, located in the heart of Kota Bharu Town. This area is the home to many historic buildings and is a major tourist attraction. Here you can visit the War Memorial (Bank Kerapu), Royal Custom Museum, Stone Museum and Old Palace.
Next on this tour is kite-making and we can see how a traditional Malaysian ‘Wau Bulan’ moon kite is made. To produce it, a lot of patience and skill is required. On the way back to Kota Bharu, we will reach Batik and Songket Factory. Learn how the wonderful traditional textile, songket, is made.
Continuing on we will be stopping by the fishing village. Another highlight of this tour is to watch how fishermen are still using traditional and modern methods to catch fish. See how this community lives in peace and harmony in this tight-knit village where everyone always looks after one another. Proceed to ‘Wat Phothivihan’ the longest lying Buddha in Southeast Asia measuring 44 meters (144.357 feet) long, 11 meters (36.0892 feet) high, and 9 meters (29.5276 feet) wide, one of the largest reclining Buddha statues in Southern Asia. You will also learn about a Malaysian Thai village with a population of about 200 people.
Finally, a stop at Central Market (Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah), which is managed by energetic traders and is the largest market in town. It’s all here, from produce and local cuisine to handicrafts. One must have strong bargaining skills to get the things cheaper. Proceed to the Cultural Center and we'll take a look inside Malay Culture and local pastime games. After this visit you will be taken back to your hotel safely.
