En route stop by one of the largest elephant orphanages in Sri Lanka, where they rear elephants that were lost to their herds by human-elephant conflict and fell into pits. Most of them are baby elephants. The elephants are fed at the orphanage and bathed in the nearby Maha Oya river twice a day. After spend some time with elephants, proceed to Peradeniya (approx. 30 min / 40km).
Upon arrival in Peradeniya visit the Royal Botanical Garden. The garden is well known for its large collection and variety of plants that are ornamental, decorative, useful and medicinal. More than 4,000 species include indigenous and introduced plants. This garden is best known for its collection of Orchids, the largest in Asia. Thereafter enjoy a lunch at your own cost at the park and then head over to Kandy City for some shopping (20min / 6km). As one of the best cities to explore, the City of Kandy is filled with arts, gems, silk, crafts and batiks. Also stop by the renowned Kandy view point to enjoy its spectacular views and then take part in the renowned Kandy Cultural Show. The cultural show is a great way to spend the evening in Kandy that showcases various talents, such as traditional dances and fire walking. As a precaution make sure to arrive a little early to secure the front row seats for a better view.

After the temple begin your return journey to Colombo (approx. 2.5hrs / 240 km). En route stop in Ambepussa and have a dinner at your own cost. Arrive in Colombo by 11:00 pm depending on traffic conditions and you will be transferred to your hotel.
