One day Private Tour of all the D-DAY Beaches, including the Mulberry Harbour, Sword Beach, the german Batteries of Longues sur Mer, Ste Mère L'Eglise and the Airborne Museum The Pointe du Hoc, and Utah Beach, and of course the American Cemetery and Omaha BeachYour guide, born and raised in Normandy in a family who lived through the occupation and the landing near Lisieux, will meet you at around 9am at the train station for those who arrive from Paris or from the place you stay in Caen, with some croissants and coffees to start your day.
Then, he will drive you straight to Arromanches to see the port the British had built to organize the landing of the troops in June 1944.
After that let's go see the the Pointe du Hoc to see how the US Rangers climbed the cliffs to disarm the German defense back in June 6th 1944.
I am a real specialist of the Pointe du Hoc and it is my favourite place on the D Day beaches.
You will then have lunch a very nice restaurant with a great view over the beach by Sword Beach.
After lunch, your guide will take you to the American cemetery in Colleville sur Mer, where all those who gave their lives to save Europe rest forever.
We will then go for a walk on the beach to feel waht these great men saw 70 years ago.
I will tell you many unique stories to make you feel the place as it was then.
Then let's go visit the Overlord Museum just by the Cemetary to see what kind of equipement was used during D-Day.
Next, head to Longues sur Mer to see the Batteries the Germans used to protect the coast from the Allies.
Then, your guide will drive you to Ste Mère l'Eglise, famous for the paratroopers who jumped to reinforce the landing operations on the coast. There you will see the C47 and some Horsa Gliders which were used in 1944 in the Airborne Museum.
Your will then be driven back to your hotel or at the train station safely early evening either to get the train to Paris or spend an evening in Caen.
Plenty of sightseeing along the route and some Calvados tasting included.
