Three vineyards of choice will be visited to taste at least 15 different wines.Duration of this tour is 4 to 5 hours. Pick up at your hotel at 09h30 and drive to Stellenbosch - the biggest wine route in South Africa. The first stop will be on one of the oldest estates in the country - beautiful Cape Dutch setting OR on an estate with fantastic views over the valley and mountains. Here we taste five different wines.
The picturesque drive takes us to the campus of the University of Stellenbosch (for a Campus drive), but also to the oldest part of the town with examples of Cape Dutch and beautiful Victorian architecture. We carry on down the oldest street in Stellenbosch and we pass "Oom Samie se Winkel", a general store dating from more than a century ago - time permitting we stop to smell spices, tobacco and see items of years gone by. The next tasting is in the mountains on our way to Franschhoek. Here again you have a choice of 5 or 6 different wines to taste.
In Franschhoek we stop briefly at the "Huguenot Monument" to share with you the history of this quaint town, the fourth oldest establishment in South Africa.Time for light lunch in the Main Street of Franschhoek will be allowed (own account) The main street boasts with lots of galleries, little stores and even a craft market for the keen shoppers.
On the circular panoramic drive back to Cape Town we stop for the last tasting, again at a beautiful Estate. Drop off at about 15h00/15h30.
