You will start the Tour at one of Kona’s oldest Coffee farms, Greenwell Farms opened in 1850 and is still ran by the Greenwell family. The farm is on prime Kona coffee land and you will see Coffee trees that are over 100 years old and see the whole Coffee producing process from Tree to the Cup.

You then head south to Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. The most intact Pu'uhonua (native Hawaiian cultural site). This park is without doubt the one of the most significant Hawaiian Heritage sites in all of the Islands. This is was a place of refuge for those who broke the Kapu (one of the ancient laws), a second chance at life.

You then tour the Painted Church, the active St. Benedict Catholic Church that was moved from its original position near the coast line up slope 3 miles in 1899 by Father John Velge from Belgium. He moved the Church and over the next 3 years transformed it, creating a Catholic Cathedral in the Hawaiian Jungle, an amazing achievement and thanks to lead paint one you can still marvel at today.

Next stop, Kona Pacific Farmer’s Cooperative is the oldest and largest Kona Coffee Cooperative in the United States! Farmer owned & operated with 32 loyal farmer members who specialize in Kona Coffee since 1910 and now process over two-million pounds of cherry per year. A great place for samples as well as wonderful baked goods from the kitchen using the fruits harvested from the tropical fruit garden. The tropical fruit garden is great to tour with over 50 different fruit trees.

Kealakekua Bay is the bay where Captain Cook fell on Feb 14th 1779, we view the Cook Monument from across Kealakekua Bay, a protected bay where the great British explorer met a violent death. You will then drive back through Kona along Ali’i Drive, viewing the beaches resorts and fabulous homes. Option to visit a Turtle Lagoon where Honu's Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles can be observed.
