Start with an overview of the city tour.
Visit the Russian Art Museum to know how the world of the War and Peace was established in the film.
On the way to the Palace Square enjoy a stroll along great Gostiny Dvor which was already in operation during the War and Peace era. Come round to the glorious Kazan Cathedral where famous fieldmarshal Kutuzov is buried.
Take a pleasure having your lunch in the historical restaurant which witnessed the time portrayed in the War and Peace film.
Then proceed along Nevsky Prospect and enter the Palace Square to be overwhelmed with its grandeur in front of the Winter Palace.
Take a drive from the city center 15 miles south to the lavish imperial palace in Tzarskoe Selo. Complete your tour heading up towards Catherine's Palace to see its wonderful interiors including the main ballroom.
