Walk in the historical district of Prague with a local guide and learn about the architectural styles from earliest (Romanesque - 12th century) to Cubism and Art Nouveau (beg. of 20th century) in the never destroyed city center. Differentiate between the styles, learn about their development, where the styles came from, and what are their typical signs. Meet the guide in your hotel and walk around Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square, Republic Square, Jewish district, New Town, and the Charles Bridge. This tour begins at your hotel. This is a private tour - there won´t be any other tourists in the group. If you prefer to meet somewhere in the city, just specify the meeting point. The price is given for a group. You won't have to worry about paying per person which makes this tour economical for any traveler.

Your local, professional guide who speaks your chosen language will come to the meeting point (usually your hotel). From your hotel you head to the city center (you walk or use the public transportation; you need to buy a ticket). You walk around the city center to different interesting sites. You'll stop at each site and listen to the different stories of each site. Because Prague city center was not destroyed during the Second World War, you will find all different architectural styles as they were built.

Your tour begins in the Old Town - the oldest part of Prague where you will find examples of all architectural styles: from the early Gothic until Cubism and Art Nouveau. Your guide will explain the development of the Old Town, what buildings stand around and why. At this square you learn about the Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles - what are their typical signs, how do you recognize them, and when the buildings were built.

You will continue on to the street from the Old Town Square which is known as the Jewish quarter. It was an almost independent district within the Old Town city walls with its own development. There stands the early Gothic Old-New synagogue, old Jewish cemetery and other synagogues built in different styles. The Paris Street is built in pseudo-historicism due to the rebuilding of the Jewish ghetto around 1900.

Next, you will head towards Republic Square which is very known and basically the only Cubist house in the city center - the House at the Black Madonna. If you wish, we can stop for a coffee/drink break (at your own expense) during this time. You can admire the great Cubist details from the furniture, wall decoration, to the cups and table services.

After your short break you continue to the Republic Square where you'll see the Municipal house in Art Nouveau style. Nearby, you'll find the Estates Theater built in classicism. You'll continue to walk to the Wenceslas Square - the heart of the New Town. Here you'll find many buildings which were built at the beginning of the 20th century. You will then walk on to the National Avenue to find the National Theater. You'll stroll along the river to the Charles Bridge.

Your tour ends at the Old Town Square. This tour is suitable for families and is wheelchair accessible. Since this is a private tour, you choose the pace of this tour.
