Would you like to discover Tenerife whilst relaxing and having real fun? A day of exploring the beautiful Tenerife and the crystal waters of the Atlantic ocean.Get picked up at your cruise port or hotel and embark on a real adventure. Visit Mount Teide, Roques de Garcia, the craters and more. Follow with a swim and turtle spotting in El Puertito, before heading back.Pickups will be either from your hotel or at the port if arriving by cruise ship. First, travel up through the beautiful forest of La Esperanza, the largest forest on the island with Eucalyptus and pine trees soaring up to over 30-meters. There will be several stops along the way to enjoy the spectacular scenery and to take pictures. The tour will also stop and give you the chance to purchase a typical Canarian coffee called barraquito.
Then head up to the National park of Teide and at the visitors center where you can enjoy the history and legends of the center and take in the stunning landscape. Next, it's on to the Roques de Garcia, the spectacular eroded rocks in the old volcanic crater. Here you will also see the strange formations in the rocks and see the famous Finger of God and the Cathedral. The crater is covered in sand but can sometimes be seen full of water as the melting snow collects as it runs down from the side of Teide.
Along the way you will also learn about how the local aboriginal guanches considered Teide as a sacred mountain and discover many other stories from your local guide. The descent will be down through the south side of Chio crossing Chinyero, where the last volcanic eruption happened in 1909.
After a short distance you will arrive in the small traditional fishing village of El Puertito. It is there that you can enjoy the clear crystal waters of the Atlantic ocean and snorkel with the resident turtles who have made this bay their home. They are very curious creatures that will often pop up alongside you to see whats going on so you will be able to see them up close and personal. After about a hour in the water it will then be time to dry off and make our way back to your hotels or cruise ships. Truly a day that you will always remember.
