What better way to see this fantastic city than from the comfort of your own VIP minibus?
Compare Edinburgh's Old Town, where families lived in cramped conditions and rubbish was thrown out of the windows, to the elegant Georgian New Town with its three main streets and a square at either end. Hear about the hangings that took place in the Grassmarket as you marvel at the impenetrable Castle Rock above you and hear about the attempts to capture Edinburgh Castle. See the Royal Mile which joins Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood House.
This tour will highlight all the things to do and see in Edinburgh as you tour through the city streets. In the narrow streets of Edinburgh you were as likely to meet a murderer as a man of genius. Body-snatchers, witch hunters, firebrand priests and philosophers all living on the side of a dead volcano. During our tour we cover all the main sights of the Old & New City of Edinburgh. Starting on the famous Royal Mile, we lead you through the windy streets and up the hills to sites of executions, cloned sheep and the birthplace of Harry Potter. After lunch we head just outside the city to Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th-century chapel formally known as the Collegiate Chapel of St Matthew for your visit. The chapel was founded by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness of the Scoto-Norman Sinclair family. Rosslyn Chapel is the third Sinclair place of worship at Roslin, the first being in Roslin Castle and the second (whose crumbling buttresses can still be seen today) in what is now Roslin Cemetery. Since the late 1980s, the chapel has also featured in speculative theories concerning a connection of Freemasonry, the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail. It was prominently featured in the 2003 bestselling novel "The Da Vinci Code" and its 2006 film adaptation. Rosslyn Chapel is privately owned. The current owner is Peter St Clair-Erskine, 7th Earl of Rosslyn.
