The Nahmint Valley offers some of the most breathtaking scenery of lakes, rivers, mountain tops, valleys, waterfalls, old growth forest and everything in between. On this guided 4-hour tour, discover the beautiful Nahmint Valley in a Polaris Rzr 4-seat Side by Side. The Nahmint Valley offers some of the most breathtaking scenery of lakes, rivers, mountain tops, valleys, waterfalls, old growth forest and everything in between. This tour offers a morning or afternoon departure.
Your local tour operator will meet you at the Visitor Centre in the Alberni Valley. From here, travel to a secure launch site approximately 10 minutes away. At this time, you'll be asked to fill out the necessary paperwork while the the guide unloads the equipment. Once you're fitted for helmets and riding gloves, your guide will give an equipment orientation and safety training to ensure that everyone can safely operate the machine.
The tour starts on the backside of Sproat Lake where you will travel along the side of the lake for approximately 12 km. Then journey up the mountain (approximately 1,300 feet) to a panoramic viewpoint that overlooks the Nahmint Valley, Mount Klitsa, and Gracie and Sproat Lake.
Enjoy a break to take in the scenery and another photo stop on the Upper Nahmint River Bridge. You can often see summer steelhead swimming in the turquoise colored river below. As you continue on farther into the back of the Nahmint Valley, there may be an opportunity to see the Roosevelt elk. These majestic animals are the largest species of elk in the world. Other wildlife that are commonly observed include deer, bear, bald eagles and many other bird species.
The next stop on the tour takes you to another amazing viewpoint, Mount Nahmint, where French Falls flow and an old natural landslides are on display side by side. A tasty snack and water are offered here.
As you make your way back, stop at the Nahmint Lake Provincial Rec Site, where giant ancient old growth rainforest surrounds you. View the hidden waterfall tucked away down a small trail and the size of the beautiful lake. This is a favorite location to enjoy snacks, water, and more photo opportunities before returning.
